Un buen comienzo / A good start

Dice el refrán que a quien madruga Dios le ayuda. Pues bien: esta mañana he comprobado, una vez más, que así es. Y en este caso, de forma literal. Es muy tentador quedarse haciendo el vago en la cama un domingo por la mañana, pero hoy me ha dado por pegarme el madrugón y salir pronto a comprar los periódicos y cositas ricas para el desayuno. En la tienda donde compro la prensa, que es también el videoclub Videola de Sotogrande, trabaja una chica majísima a la que, por cierto, siempre se me olvida preguntarle el nombre. Pues bien, ahí estaba ella, hablando con un cliente sobre no-sé-qué vídeos y, de repente, oigo que nombra a ADANA. Conecto mi antena y escucho que el hombre quiere donar una colección de películas que ya no puede tener en casa y ella le aconseja que contacte con ADANA… El hombre ya estaba diciendo que menudo lío, que él no iba a ir hasta Estepona, que los vídeos los llevaba ahora en el coche. Si me hubiera quedado durmiendo, ahora las películas no estarían en mi coche. Pero ahí están, y dentro de nada estarán dando beneficios para ADANA.
The early bird catches the worm. Today I have seen proof that this is the case. No doubt. It is very tempting to sleep in on Sundays. But this morning I decided to get up very early and go out to get the papers and goodies for breakfast. I went to Videola in Sotogrande and saw the young lady who is usually there in the morning (sorry I always forget to ask her name) chatting to a customer. They were talking about VHS movies and, suddenly, I hear “ADANA”… I switched on my ears and learned that he wanted to donate a huge movie collection. As the videolibrary only rents DVDs, she suggested he contacted ADANA. Well, he was already saying that he wanted to get rid of the videos today itself, that he had them in the boot of his car… Excellent! Had I stayed in bed this morning, I couldn’t say the videos are in my car now. But they are, and hopefully they will soon be sold by ADANA.
